# Instant Reveal

A fast, hands-off reveal that checks each ticket automatically and highlights any wins as they are found.

***

### What Is It?

Instant Reveal is the simplest and quickest way for customers to see their results. Instead of clicking or tapping through a game, the customer presses one button and their tickets are checked automatically, one after another. Each ticket number flashes up on screen, and when a winner is found it is highlighted with the prize name, a picture of the prize and a celebration sound.

It is a great choice for competitions where customers tend to buy lots of tickets, because they can see every result in seconds without any effort.

The game appears on the order confirmation page (the "thank you" page customers see after paying), underneath their ticket numbers.

In the **Game Type** dropdown, this game appears as **Instant Reveal (Auto Reveal)**.
{% endhint %}

### How It Works

This is what your customer sees and does:

1. After checking out, the customer sees a panel with your competition's **Featured Image** on one side and a small **Settings** box on the other.
2. In the **Settings** box they can choose how they want the reveal to run (see [Customer settings](#customer-settings) below). Most customers simply leave these as they are.
3. They press **Check Your Tickets!**
4. The reveal starts automatically. A ticket shaped card shows each **Ticket Number** in turn, with a counter (for example "3/20") and the message "Checking tickets..." while it works through them.
5. Losing tickets show **No Win** and the reveal moves straight on.
6. When a winning ticket comes up:
   * The ticket card lights up in your site colour and bounces.
   * The prize name appears with the message "Congratulations you have won the above prize!"
   * The picture of the prize replaces the competition image, if the prize has one.
   * A win sound plays, and a running count shows how many winners have been found so far.
   * Winning tickets always stay on screen a little longer than losing ones, whatever speed is chosen, so a win is never missed.
7. When every ticket has been checked, the customer sees "Check complete!" with the number of wins found, followed by a **Winning Tickets Summary** listing each winning ticket number and its prize. If there were no wins, it shows "0 Instant Wins Found" and "Better Luck Next time!"

#### Customer settings

Before pressing **Check Your Tickets!**, the customer can adjust these options in the **Settings** box:

| Option                   | What it does                                                                                                     | Default        |
| ------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------- |
| **Auto-pause on winner** | Stops the reveal on each winning ticket so the customer can enjoy the moment. They press **Resume** to carry on. | Off |
| **Sound effects** | Plays the win sound when a winner is found. Untick to reveal silently. | On |
| **Speed** | How quickly the tickets are checked. | 4x (Very Fast) |

The **Speed** dropdown offers these choices:

* **0.5x (Slow)**
* **1x (Normal)**
* **2x (Fast)**
* **4x (Very Fast)**. This is the default.
* **8x (Lightspeed)**
* **14x (Blur)**
* **20x (Warp)**

{% hint style="info" %}
When the reveal is paused on a win, the customer also gets **Prev** and **Next** buttons to step back and forward through their tickets one at a time, plus **Resume** to restart the automatic reveal from where they are.
{% endhint %}

### Setting It Up

1. In the admin panel, open **Competitions** in the left-hand menu and click the competition you want to use.
2. In the right-hand column, find the **Game Type** dropdown and choose **Instant Reveal (Auto Reveal)**.
3. Click **Save changes** (or **Create** if this is a brand new competition).
4. Make sure the competition has at least one instant win prize, otherwise the game will not appear for customers. See [Add Instant Wins](/create-your-first-raffle/add-instant-wins.md).

Instant Reveal has no settings panel of its own and no custom sounds. Everything it shows comes from your competition and your instant win prizes.

### Customisation Options

#### Competition image

While the tickets are being checked, the panel shows the competition's own **Featured Image** (the main image you upload in the right-hand column of the competition page). Make sure it is set, as it is the first thing customers see.

#### Prize pictures

When a winning ticket is revealed, the competition image is swapped for a picture of that prize. The picture comes from the prize itself:

* When you add prizes in the **Create Instant Wins** builder, upload a picture in the **Image** box next to each prize (PNG or JPG, up to 872KB).
* When you edit an existing prize later, the same picture appears as **Featured Image**, where you can replace or remove it.

If a prize has no picture, the competition image simply stays on screen during the win, so the game still works. Adding prize pictures just makes each win feel more real.

#### Prize names

The prize name you give each instant win is shown in large text on a win and in the summary at the end. Keep names short and clear, such as "£500 Cash" or "AirPods Pro".

### Tips

* **Ideal for big orders.** If customers often buy dozens or hundreds of tickets, Instant Reveal gets them to their results fastest.
* **Tell customers about Auto-pause.** Customers who want to savour every win can tick **Auto-pause on winner** before they start. The Settings box disappears once the reveal begins, so it cannot be switched on halfway through.
* **Check your images on mobile.** On a phone, the image sits above the ticket card, so a clear, well cropped competition image makes a big difference.

### Want to try it first?

Once the competition has been saved at least once, a **Preview Game** button appears just under the **Game Type** dropdown whenever Instant Reveal is selected. Save any other changes to the competition first, because the button takes you to a new page. Then click it to open the **Game Preview** page, where you can play the game with sample tickets before any customer sees it. Nothing is entered and no order is created.

Because Instant Reveal has no custom artwork or sounds, the preview page simply notes that it uses your instant win prizes. Use the desktop and mobile icons to check both views, and press the replay button to play it again.
