Perfect for revealing each winner in real time to your audience. *** Live Stream Draws let you run the main prize draw yourself, live, from your own website. Each number is drawn through TrueNorth and revealed on screen with a short animation, and you confirm each winner before RaffleX saves it. This is ideal if you like to reveal winners on a Facebook, TikTok or YouTube live stream, because your audience can watch every step happen. Here is a short preview of what a live draw looks like on screen. {% embed url="" %} {% hint style="info" %} This preview has no voiceover. It is just to show you how the draw looks in action. {% endhint %} {% hint style="info" %} This page assumes you have already connected your TrueNorth account. If you have not done that yet, start with TrueNorth Setup. {% endhint %} {% content-ref url="/pages/wjkhNn5bSInlvlyhGq4A" %} [TrueNorth Setup](/drawing-winners/truenorth-setup.md) {% endcontent-ref %} *** ### What You Need First The **Draw Winners** button, and the live draw it opens, only work when all of the following are true: * **TrueNorth is connected** for your site, and the **Provably Fair Autodraws** toggle is switched **on**. You will find both on the **Standards** page in Settings. The toggle switches itself on when you first connect, so you only need to check it if someone has turned it off. See [TrueNorth Setup](/drawing-winners/truenorth-setup.md). * You are **logged in to your website as an admin**. Customers never see the button. * The competition has **ended**, meaning its **End** date and time has passed. * The competition has **Auto draw** switched **off**. A live draw and an [automatic draw](/drawing-winners/truenorth-autodraws.md) are alternatives, so you choose one or the other for each competition. * The competition has a **Draw Winner Quantity** of at least 1, and **fewer winners have been drawn than that number**. Once every winner has been drawn, the button disappears from the competition page. {% hint style="warning" %} **Sold out early?** When a competition sells out before its end date, your website shows it as finished straight away, and you may see the **Draw Winners** button. The live draw still will not start until the **End** date and time has actually passed. If you click **Start verifiable draw** too soon, you will see the message "This product has not ended yet. The draw cannot start until the competition closes." Wait until the end time, then try again. {% endhint %} {% hint style="info" %} **Not seeing the button, or nothing happens when you click it?** Work through this checklist: 1. Open your **website** (not the admin panel) and make sure you are logged in with your admin account. 2. In the admin panel, find the **Content** group in the left hand menu, click **Settings**, then open **Standards**, and check that you see the green **Connected** panel and that **Provably Fair Autodraws** is switched on. 3. Open the competition in the admin panel and check that **Auto draw** is off and **Draw Winner Quantity** is 1 or more. If **Auto draw** is on, the **Draw Winners** button can still appear, but clicking it does nothing. 4. Check that the competition's **End** date has passed. If everything above looks right and the button is still missing, contact Rafflex support. {% endhint %} *** ### Where to Find the Live Draw While logged in to your website as an admin, you will find a **Draw Winners** button in two places: * **On the competition page.** Open the ended competition on your website. Under the **Competition Finished!** heading you will see a **Draw Winners** button. * **On the competition's entry list.** Click **Entry Lists** in your website's menu, then choose the competition. The competition's card at the top of its entry list has a **Draw Winners** button. This only works for competitions that have the **Entry list** toggle switched on. See [Entry List Display](/additional-settings/entry-list-display.md). Click **Draw Winners** in either place to open the live draw window. {% hint style="info" %} The entry list card shows the **Draw Winners** button to admins whether or not the competition is ready to draw. If you open it for a competition that is still running, has **Auto draw** switched on, or already has all of its winners, the draw will not run. The button on the competition page is a better guide, because it disappears once every winner has been drawn. Either way, check the list in [What You Need First](#what-you-need-first) before you go live. {% endhint %} *** ### The Opening Screen When the live draw window opens, you see a summary of the competition before anything is drawn. Nothing happens until you press the start button, so take your time to check it. At the top, a badge shows **True North RNG connected** so you know TrueNorth is ready. Below that you will see: * The competition's **title** and image, with its closing date and time (for example **Closing Today** or **Ends 12 Oct**), plus a **Prizes** badge if there is more than one winner. * **Tickets Sold**, shown as the number sold out of the competition's maximum tickets. * **Ticket Range**, from 1 up to the competition's maximum tickets. * **Winners**, the number of winners to draw. If some winners were already drawn earlier, the card notes "Existing winners remain on record". Underneath the summary are two optional switches. Each one shows its current state on the right. * **Turbo Mode** draws every winner in a single run instead of one at a time. Its states are **Off**, **Armed** (switched on and ready) and **Locked** (not available, because at least one winner has already been saved for this competition). The footer shows how many winners have been drawn so far, a **Cancel** button to close the window, and the main start button. *** ### Run the Draw 1. Click **Draw Winners** to open the live draw window and check the details on the opening screen. 2. If you want to, switch on **Turbo Mode** now. Turbo Mode is only available before the first winner is saved. 3. Click **Start verifiable draw**. The window shows **Drawing winner 1 of** your total, a progress bar, and a scrolling number while TrueNorth draws the result. The very first draw takes a few seconds longer than the rest, which builds a little suspense for your audience. 4. The number lands and the result appears. You will see the **ticket number**, the result, and a **True North Draw Certificate** panel showing the **Draw ID**, the **Drawn Number** and how many **Attempts** and **Redraws** there have been. 5. Decide what to do with the result. The buttons you see depend on what was drawn: * **Ticket sold**. This is a valid winner and the winner's name is shown. Click **Confirm & draw next** to save the winner, or **Confirm final winner** if this is the last one. * **Ticket not sold · Redraw required**. Nobody bought this number. Click **Redraw** to draw again. * **Already won · redraw required**. This ticket has already won a prize in this competition. Click **Redraw** to draw again. 6. If your competition has more than one winner, RaffleX moves straight on to the next draw after you confirm, and the strip along the top ticks off each winner as you go. Repeat step 5 until every winner is confirmed. 7. When the last winner is confirmed, the window shows **Draw Complete · Verified** and a heading such as **All 3 winners drawn**, with a list of every winner and their ticket number. Click **Done** to finish. RaffleX closes the window and reloads the page so the results appear straight away. {% hint style="info" %} Seeing a **Redraw**? See [Redraws in a Live Draw Explained](/drawing-winners/truenorth-live-stream-draws/live-draw-redraws-explained.md). {% endhint %} {% hint style="warning" %} Only confirm a winner when you are happy for that result to be final. As soon as you click **Confirm & draw next** or **Confirm final winner**, the winner is saved and their winner email is sent automatically. {% endhint %} {% hint style="info" %} While a number is being drawn, the window cannot be closed and the footer reads **Locked**, with a note that drawing is in progress. Once the result is showing you can close the window again. Anything you have not confirmed is not saved. {% endhint %} *** ### Picking Up Where You Left Off You do not have to finish a multi winner draw in one go. If you close the window, lose your connection or refresh the page partway through, every winner you have already confirmed stays saved. 1. Go back to the competition page (or its entry list) and click **Draw Winners** again. 2. The opening screen shows a **Draw in progress** panel, for example "2 of 5 winner(s) confirmed. Click resume to continue." It lists the ticket number and name of each winner already confirmed. 3. Click **Resume draw**. RaffleX carries on with the next winner, rather than starting over. {% hint style="info" %} If you closed the window partway through, refresh the competition page before you open the draw again. This makes sure the window picks up the latest state of your draw. {% endhint %} *** ### Draw All Winners at Once (Turbo Mode) If your competition has several winners and you would rather not confirm them one at a time, you can use **Turbo Mode** to draw them all in a single run. This is handy when you have a lot of winners to get through and do not need to reveal each one separately. On the opening screen, below the draw details, switch on the **Turbo Mode** toggle. Its helper text reads "Skip straight to the winners. Unsold numbers are discarded automatically and all 5 winners are verified, tagged on True North and revealed together." (with your own number of winners in place of 5). The state on the right changes from **Off** to **Armed**. Turbo Mode can only be switched on for a fresh draw, before the first winner is saved. If a winner has already been confirmed, the toggle shows **Locked** with the message "Turbo mode cannot be enabled once the draw has started." In that case, use **Resume draw** to finish the remaining winners one at a time. When Turbo Mode is armed, the main button changes from **Start verifiable draw** to **Start turbo draw**. Click it and RaffleX will: * Draw all of the winners in one go, with no need to confirm each one. * Automatically discard any unsold numbers for you, so you never have to redraw by hand. * Verify every winner and tag them on TrueNorth, exactly as the normal draw does. * Reveal all of the winners together on the final screen once the draw is complete. While it runs, the window shows **Turbo draw** with a progress bar and **TURBO DRAW IN PROGRESS**. When it finishes, click **Done**. RaffleX closes the draw and refreshes the competition page for you, so the confirmed winners appear straight away. {% hint style="warning" %} Turbo Mode confirms every winner automatically, so there is no chance to review or redraw a result partway through. Use the normal one at a time draw if you want to check each winner before it is saved. {% endhint %} {% hint style="info" %} A turbo draw works through every winner in one longer step. While it runs, RaffleX keeps checking in the background, so if your connection drops but the winners have already been drawn, the completed screen usually appears on its own. If the draw takes much longer than expected, RaffleX shows a **Connection interrupted** message with **Close** and **Try again** buttons. Click **Try again**. If all of your winners were already drawn, you are taken straight to the completed screen showing every winner, with no new draw run. If the draw had not finished, it carries on from where it left off. {% endhint %} *** ### If Something Goes Wrong Most messages explain themselves, but here is what each one means and what to do. | Message | What it means | What to do | | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | **This product has not ended yet. The draw cannot start until the competition closes.** | The competition's **End** date and time has not passed yet. | Wait until the competition has closed, then click **Draw Winners** again. | | **Not enough eligible tickets to draw** a number of **winner(s)** | There are fewer sold tickets (that have not already won) than the number of winners still needed, so the draw could never be finished. The message tells you how many eligible tickets remain. | Lower the competition's **Draw Winner Quantity** so it is no higher than the tickets available, then try again. | | **This product already has** a number of **winner(s), which meets or exceeds the configured limit** | Every winner for this competition has already been drawn. | Nothing to do. The opening screen shows a **View results** button that takes you to the competition page. | | **Turbo mode cannot be enabled once the draw has started.** | A winner has already been saved, so Turbo Mode is locked. | Click **Resume draw** to finish the remaining winners one at a time. | | **Failed to connect to True North RNG. Please try again.** | RaffleX could not reach TrueNorth for a moment. | See below. | If RaffleX cannot reach TrueNorth during the draw, the window changes to **Connection Error** with the heading **Unable to reach True North RNG**, and the badge at the top changes to **True North RNG disconnected**. If you have already confirmed some winners, it reassures you that your confirmed winners are safely saved. 1. Click **Try again** to retry the step that failed. 2. If it still does not work, click **Close**, wait a minute or two, then open **Draw Winners** again and click **Resume draw**. 3. If the problem carries on, contact Rafflex support. {% hint style="success" %} A dropped connection never loses a confirmed winner. Anything you confirmed before the problem stays saved, and you can carry on from where you left off. {% endhint %} *** ### Tips for a Smooth Live Stream * **Do a quick check before you go live.** Open the competition page on the device you will stream from, make sure you are logged in as an admin, and check the **Draw Winners** button is there. Open the window and click **Cancel** if you just want to look. * **Decide on Turbo Mode before you start.** It cannot be changed once the first number has been drawn. * **Use a reliable connection.** A wired connection or strong Wi-Fi helps the draw run smoothly on camera. * **Explain redraws to your audience.** If an unsold number comes up, it is normal and part of a fair draw. A short line such as "that number was not sold, so we draw again" keeps viewers on side. * **Keep the window open until you click Done.** This shows your audience the final list of winners and reloads the page with the verified results. *** ### After the Draw Once your winners are confirmed: * The winners are saved against the competition and shown on the competition page. * Each winner is sent their winner email automatically, provided your email settings are set up correctly. See [Email Setup](/essential-settings/email-setup.md). * A **Provably Fair Draw** panel appears on the competition page with a **Verified** badge, the **Draw Details** (such as the Draw ID, draw date, maximum tickets and tickets sold) and the list of **Winners**. * Customers can click **Verify Result on TrueNorth** to check the result for themselves. {% hint style="success" %} You do not need to add the winner again anywhere else. Confirming the winner in the live draw records the result for you.
