# Manual Draw

Prefer to pick the winner yourself with an outside random number generator? You can choose the winning ticket and record it in RaffleX by hand, without using TrueNorth.

### Want a Verified Draw Instead?

If TrueNorth RNG is [connected](/drawing-winners/truenorth-setup.md) to your site, RaffleX can run a verified draw for you, either [automatically](/drawing-winners/truenorth-autodraws.md) or [live](/drawing-winners/truenorth-live-stream-draws.md), instead of you using a separate random number generator.

### How to Manually Select a Winner

1. Use any **random number generator**, for example Google Random Number Generator
2. Select the **winning ticket number**
3. In your RaffleX admin panel, go to **Competitions** and open the competition
4. Click the **Actions** button (top right)
5. Select **Add Winners**
6. Enter the **Winning Ticket** number. The winner's details fill in automatically. You can optionally add a **Prize** (used when there is more than one winner) and a **Name Override**.
7. Confirm to save the winner

Saving the winner automatically sends them the winner email, so there is no separate step to notify them.

### Instant Win Only Competitions

To run an [instant win](/create-your-first-raffle/add-instant-wins.md) only competition, set the **Draw Winner Quantity** to **0** when creating a competition. This will automatically move it to results after it has completed.
